Could be. I'll post my findings here when I get my disks. Now that we know this issue was actually addressed and corrected in the past I think this is defininitely something that WD should take even more seriously now ....

It could be possible that there are other ReadyNAS services (X-RAID2?) that actively access the drives between > 12.8 and < 25.4 seconds.
Yeah, that is possible too. Some service or RAID itself. Well, at least you have a healthy system now :)
