WD2003FYYS RE4 - 2.0TB
Hello, I was thinking of buying 4 of these WD2003FYYS disks for my NVX. But they are not listed in the official NVX Hcl. On the other hand when i take a look in the HCL of the NVX pioneer edition,...

We currently use a ReadyNAS 1100 (with RAIDiator 4.1.7) here in the office equipped with four 750GB drives, and I currently use a ReadyNAS NVX at home working perfectly with four, recently upgraded WD RE4 WD2003FYYS drives. I am looking to upgrade our ReadyNAS 1100 with four 2TB drives, and without thinking of looking up the HCL for a ReadyNAS 1100, automatically assumed that the same WD RE4 WD2003FYYS drives I use in my NVX at home will work with the 1100 in the office. I just checked the HCL for the 1100 and saw that the WD RE4 WD2003FYYS drives are not supported. And yes, I already purchased the new drives before checking the HCL (beats head on desk).
Well, I already purchased the four WD RE4 WD2003FYYS drives, and they are just sitting here on my desk. I would really like to use these drives in the ReadyNAS 1100, as I do not like the brands or performance of the other 2TB drives recommended by the 1100 HCL. I would really like to avoid using the other recommended drives, and upgrading the 1100 to different $1000+ NAS is going to be a tough sell to the office manager.
My question is: can I use WD RE4 WD2003FYYS drives in my ReadyNAS 1100, even though they are not recommended on the 1100 HCL? If not, can you give me advice on the best course of action for using the WD RE4 WD2003FYYS drives? Is upgrading the office ReadyNAS hardware the only option?
Thanks,

I have the same question on ReadyNAS RND2000....
