Interesting. We are using four WDC RE4 WD2003FYYS disks in our ReadyNAS NVX Business Edition using X-RAID2. Frontview is saying each disk is running at either 40 C (104 F) or 42C (107 F). The system fan is running at 2109 RPM and system temp is 42 C (107 F), which is right in the middle of normal. However, our ReadyNAS is in a chilled storage room. If you have the funds, you might want to try placing your ReadyNAS Duo in a cooler part of the house, like a basement or concrete area, then using a Powerline system (more reliable than wireless) to connect it back to your router.
