  • Orange or Amber?

     

    Rear panel Ethernet ports Two LED status indicators are built into these ports. One LED indicates port activity. The other LED indicates connection speed as follows:

    • Green. The port is operating at 1,000 Mbps.

    • Amber. The port is operating at 100 Mbps.

    • Off. The port is operating at 10 Mbps.

        (a) Is the NAS working ok?

        (b) Are you also seeing a green LED for the ethernet?

        (c) Can you check the ethernet connection speed 

         

        It does sound like it might be negotiating 100 mbps ethernet.  If you can't check it easily, you could

        • try a different ethernet cable
        • connect using the other port in the NAS and a different port on the router (or switch)
        • measure the file transfer speed, and see if you are limited to about 12 MB/s
