What model do I own....
I have a Ready NAS Duo that I have been running for about 5 years now. I have upgraded both HDD to 1TB each, and now need to increase that capacity dramatically.
Looking at a sticker on the base of the unit it says it's an RND2150 (with v2 printed on the case on after it)...But if I lift the sticker it says it's a RND2000 v2
So, confused here is wondering is this a Ready NAS Duo V2 or a Ready NAS Duo.
It seems to make a difference on the drive size I can put in.
If it's not a V2 it seems max size is 2 x 2TB, but I want to go to at least 2 x 3TB which I can do on an a V2 model.....
It's an expensive err to make if I get it wrong.
Any advice at all?
Apart from that, these are really good units.

- The simple way to tell is to look at the firmware revision.
4.1.x is v1
5.x.x is v2.
There is a more detailed writeup here: http://www.rnasguide.com/2012/01/09/how ... -or-nv-v2/ - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee Retired5 years would indicate you have a Duo v1h2 so 2TB drives are the limit for your system.
- eantAspirantThanks for rapid feedback...
I have firmware version 4.1.14, so that means it's a V1, so 2 x 2TB maximum it is then. That'll do for me for about 6 months, in which time I'll look for a second hand unit that I can add to my network...or better still if Santa is nice this year a nice shiny new unit.
Help very much appreciated. - Marto731AspirantEant,
Be mindful that 2nd hand units are not covered by warranty.
You risk buying a unit with a fault.
