What's the exact recognized size in a 3TB drive?

OK, thanks. Do you know if there is a way to set the drive into a kind of compatibility mode? (like it used to be with the 32GB or 128GB limits, if I remember well, and configurable by a jumper in the hard drive). Or use the aforementioned MBR method instead of GPID.
