Which unit to upgrade to?
Currently have an NVX with 4*2TB onboard and its full. I was going to buy a pair of 4TB and then later on buy another pair, using auto expansion, as I have already done this when I went from 4*1.5 ...

The ReadyNAS RN314 would be a good choice for your needs I think. If you would like more than four drive bays perhaps the RN316.
The ReadyNAS RN516 would be a good choice if you need to transcode 1080p video (convert it on the fly from one format to another e.g. to stream a 1080p MKV to an iPad using Plex)
Do note that you will need to put your new disks in the new NAS and transfer your data e.g. across your network.
