will global erase delete all data?
Hi,
I took out my existing Hard drive from the bay which at all my data written on it. When i inserted it back into the NAS it did not recognise it and went green. I paniced and hit the Global Spare button by accident and now it says there is no volume. Have i lost all my data?
do you require any more info?
thanks

Hi Shivy147,
You may check first if the partition is still there on the drive. If you are comfortable in using SSH on the NAS, you may check by accessing the NAS via SSH.
If the partition is still there, it is still possible to recover it. But if not, our L3 will not be able to recover it because it was a one drive NAS. They have no other drive to copy the partition scheme from.
If you are not comfortable in using SSH, it will be better for you to contact NETGEAR Support so they can assist you or you can wait for other Community members to chime in here and assist you as well.
Regards,

Hi,
I believe there still is a partition on the drive.
Do you have a guide on the process of recovering files vis SSH?
Plus will I be able to save files directly onto the new drive installed in the RN102?
thanks
