Can't destroy/erase raid volume

Hi,

I had a very very similar problem to this one:
https://community.netgear.com/t5/Using-your-ReadyNAS-in-Business/The-volume-data-encountered-an-error-and-was-made-read-only-It/m-p/2161969

In the thread, it was recommended to reformat and start over. As I did have enough storage to make a complete backup locally via USB drives, I am taking that route.

I was using have a remote backup using ReadyNAS Vault. (I have restored from ReadyNAS Vault before, it is possible but painful, thus a local backup via USB would be faster).

I tried to Destroy the volume and I got an alert saying that it can't due to ReadyNAS Vault being enabled. After several attempts, I was able to disable ReadyNAS Vault on the Cloud tab. However, I am still getting the message that it is in use by ReadyNAS Vault. I have tried rebooting the NAS but still the same issue.

Any idea on how to Destroy the RAID volume and reformat it?

  • You can start completely over by doing a factory default. You can do this from the boot menu, or from the system->settings screen.

This will reformat the disks, and do a fresh install.
