or temp rig my local network to use the same range so that I can access the admin page at least?
Yes. An easy way is to set the LAN address range of your router to 192.168.86.x. Then reboot the router, and (if needed) the PC. Then you should be able to get to the admin page, and reset the IP address to DHCP.
Though there is puzzle here - your win7 PC shouldn't have been able to reach the NAS either.

Thanks for the reply and the willingness to help out.
Ah! True - it's not the 4200...
Raidar say's:
ReadyNAS DUO
Firmware: 4.1.13
IP: 192.168.86.49
Status: Healthy
I'm not a network wizz - but I do understand that this IP is local. And that's pretty much the level of my understanding. I've tried to ping that adress - but it times out.

Good, so you have a ReadyNAS Duo v1.
Can you check the IP address of the PC? In particular we need to know if it is also 192.168.86.x
You can also try running CMD on Windows (enter CMD in it's search bar). That will open up a black window with a command line interface. Try entering
net use * /delete
net use t: \\192.168.86.49\C /user:admin nas-admin-password
Use the real nas admin password, and be careful on the slash direction and spaces. If you get a prompt, it's safe to let Windows proceed.
The first command terminates any open networking sessions (there shouldn't be any); the second tries to map the NAS data volume to drive letter T in the PC.

Well - the wireless IPv4 is 192.168.1.41. Was that the one you're looking for?
The first "net use" line replied "There are no entries in the list".
The second line replied "System error 53... The network path was not found".

Yes, and that says something is wrong with your network. The NAS should also have a 192.168.1.x address. Can you double-check the NAS IP address in RAIDar? Also try removing the ethernet cable at the NAS and then reconnecting it.

Again - thanks for your effort StephenB!
Network cable unplugged for 2 minutes and then replugged.
Pressed the "rescan" button twice. Still shows the same IP.
