Yes. An easy way is to set the LAN address range of your router to 192.168.86.x. Then reboot the router, and (if needed) the PC. Then you should be able to get to the admin page, and reset the IP address to DHCP.
Though there is puzzle here - your win7 PC shouldn't have been able to reach the NAS either.

Can't remember setting it to a static IP.
The procedure did not work I'm afraid. Same IP.
Come to think of it - the unit was connected to the network at my office for a little while. It's a small and very controlled network. It could have been set to a static IP by my tech guy there alltough I do not remember that to have been a subject of conversation. Mind you - I'm over 40 so I don't remember all conversations from the past very well ;-)
Any way to force it to release that IP - or temp rig my local network to use the same range so that I can access the admin page at least?

YES!
That did it!
I'm a little impressed with my self managing to navigate the router admin through such a task :-)
And I'm very impressed with you, sir - that managed to fault find with so few and (apparantly) simple steps!!
Thanks a billion!
My next quest is to get the old NAS talking to my new Sonos - but I'm not going to bother you with those nitty gritty details :-)
Have a great day - and thanks again!
