4.1.6 causing problems with Bittorrent Download Manager Duo
Since firmware upgrade I cannot access download manager page.
I can get a work around by turning off, then back on the bittorrent service and this gives between a few seconds and about 2 mins access before it stops again.
Is it possible to downgrade the firmware to 4.1.5 which had no such problems?

- rawcopyAspirantI have the same problem since upgrading to 4.1.6 on my NV+
I do the deactivate, reactivate BitTorrent add-on routine and it works for a few minutes, but stops eventually.
Then accessing it afresh from the browser doesn't open the window anymore.
I've reinstalled the firmware, but to no avail. The only changes made since the firmware update were the addition of the PHP and Nas Monitor add-ons. I also added Transmission, but it was too much bother so I removed it and deleted all shares it created.
Any help, much appreciated. Thanks - chirpaLuminaryThe BitTorrent client has not changed since at least 4.1.3, so it is odd that this would be happening.
Can you give example .torrent files you are using when the lockups occur if possible? If they are questionable, but you still don't mind sharing, send them to me in a Private Message (PM). - cocis24AspirantI have exactly the same problem with 4.1.6.
I have been rebooting the NAS to regain access to the download manager page, will nowtry restarting the service.
Famous last words "but nothing has changed in this build". - chirpaLuminaryAre you sure its the firmware upgrade, and not a specific torrent you have added recently? I've seen some .torrent files mess up that daemon.
BitTorrent.com people wrote that client, they have not updated us since before we released 4.1.3 firmware. - cheap_ed_hardyAspirantI very much agree with the statement upstairs. This problem for a long time I think did not understand that, thanks to you for reminding me came to understand.
- saa1973AspirantI have the same problem. No access to the BitTorrent page. It just opens a window and sits there. We get that no one changed anything but the problem is obviously occurring repeatedly in a number of installs. Who can assist in a diagnosis?
- keepyAspirantHi there I'm having a similar problem with the bittorrent manager... but I cant even get the service to start after upgrading last night. :-(
It just hangs on the Service Add-ons page in Frontview with the Blue circle spinning around. No matter how long I wait its doesnt start.
Tried different browsers etc.
Is there any way of forcing the service to start via another method? - DPilAspirant+1 Same problem with BitTorrent. Appeared after 4.1.6 upgrade...
- ukzappaAspirantThis may or may not be related to the problems outlined here but I sometimes cannot get access to the BitTorrent Download Manager. My browser just sits there with a white/blank screen.
There is a small bug.
When you add a download, 2 files plus place holder(s) for the actual download (possibly in its/their own directory) are added to the .bittorrent directory. Note that I'm referring to the hidden directory .bittorrent not the visible directory BitTorrent.
Use: net use <drive letter>: \\<IP address>\d admin /user:admin
to access .bittorrent.
When the download completes, it is moved to the BitTorrent directory. The remaining 2 files (?.fastresume and ?.torrent) are deleted. However, sometimes the delete is not performed. If this happens, you can no longer access the manager.
If you only had one torrent downloading then simply delete the contents of .bittorrent. If you have multiple downloads on the go, you will need to identify the correct 2 files. Simply look inside each .torrent file until you identify the correct one then delete it together with it's corresponding .fastresume file.
You will then need to stop and restart the BitTorrent service using Frontview.
You should now find all is well and you have access to the BitTorrent Download Manager as normal. - DPilAspirant
