Can't Delete old Backup files from Target NAS
Hi,
Like many here, after a few failed attempts I think I have got my head around Replicate.
I need to delete two old backup directories off the Target NAS and start from scratch with fresh backup job. However, windows explorer won't let me delete the old backup files on the target NAS.
I used the Default backup job names and can see two directories called "DBBQDG~V" and "DMDG4J~P" in the target NAS 'Backup' share. Navigating into the first directory shows a directory call "2013-10-11 15-02". That folder shows up as empty even though I know there's over 200G in there. I see from this thread that using the default backup names causes issues with Windows explorer: www.readynas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=138&t=58997
When I try to delete the directory from mapped NAS 'Backup share (I'm on same LAN), I get the Windows error "You need permission to perform this action....You require permission from the computers administrator to make changes to this folder". I am able to delete other files off the same NAS so is it something to do with the screwed up directory names?? Or do I have to do something drastic like this (which I don't fully understand and seems a bit extreme) www.readynas.com/kb/faq/share/how_do_i_connect_to_the_readynas_as_admin
Any help appreciated as the two trial backups I have done have used 500G of hard drive space..

- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredHave you tried logging into the Replicate website and deleting the directories using that?
- andyoz_11AspirantHi,
I have deleted them in the main 'Jobs' list but the directories are still showing on the target NAS.
When I look at the list if backups done in the 'Reports' section on Replicate, if I highlight one of these and right click a popup menu appears with 'Inspect, Delete, Copy' options but the Delete and Copy options are greyed out and can't be selected.
