- JohnnyEgnyteAspirantHi dgriffin, just to clarify are you trying to create a share folder within the main ELC Share folder?
- dgriffin1AspirantI would like to bakcup some files to the shared folder in the ELC share.
- JohnnyEgnyteAspirantCreate a folder under ELC Shared (e.g. Backup). Then just rsync data to that specific folder.
Any data you dump there will be automatically synced to the cloud, creating a backup of the data online.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
~ Johnny - dgriffin1AspirantThanks. I give it a try.
- dgriffin1AspirantWhat is correct syntax for the path on the destination. I would like to backup the files to ELC\shared folder.
- JohnnyEgnyteAspirantHere's our helpdesk article with example syntax: https://helpdesk.egnyte.com/entries/324 ... -cloud-nas
Hope that helps! - dgriffin1AspirantThe example syntax did not work in the Frontview backup screen. Test connection fails. I am using the Remote Rsync server as the destination. Host is the IP of the NAS. In the path option only \backup\ will work when testing the connection but the backup will not function. I states it is progress but not files are tranfered.
I try the example syntax you sent of c/backup/ but the connection fails.
any ideas? - JohnnyEgnyteAspirantIt sounds like there might be some other factors at play here.
It's difficult to troubleshoot this on the forums, you should contact our support team to work this out.
Here's the link to submit a ticket: https://helpdesk.egnyte.com/anonymous_requests/new
Once you have submitted a ticket, let me know the ticket # and I'll follow up with support and engineering to ensure this gets worked out.
~ Johnny - dgriffin1AspirantMy Ticket number is ID: 59246. Tech says it must have something to do with the NAS. The Test connection says averything is OK. When I run the backup it just says processing and will not cancel until I reboot the NAS.
I'm Using remote Rsync server
Host - 192.168.1.50
path - c:\ELC\Shared\
I have tried with a login and password and without.
Ideas? - JohnnyEgnyteAspirantI think the problem might be that you have a large data set and it's just taking a long time to sync up.
So when it says processing, it might be still transferring and might take a while (I've seen rsync take days to process).
But just in case, I've elevated your ticket directly with support and you should be hearing from them again soon.
