Egnyte Alternatives Due to Price Hike
Hi all, Egnyte are hicking up our existing plan pricing from $90/mth to $150/mth effective December this year for less users and similar features. Thats a 66% increase for nothing extra in our case!
Their response to why this happened is as below;
I don't believe that this is warranted considering we have been using their service since the beginning (and putting up with the bugs and hours with their tech guys dialling in to fix sync issues).
I was curious to know if there were any other add-ons available offering similar functionality?

The rate increase is due to a combination of advancements in R&D to enhance the Egnyte solution as well as staying current with the market pricing and demand. We are always re-investing money back into the company to enhance the system for our clients in terms of upload speeds, advanced security features, changes to the interface, etc. Also as a start up company, the original pricing structure was not aligned with the market rates. Please note that many clients choose annual billing as opposed to monthly for the sole purpose of price protection.
Feel free to review our Terms of Service: https://www.egnyte.com/corp/terms_of_service.html

- AFH_ITAspirantHi pravp, We are going through the same thing with Egnyte. Just had our talk of change and change in plans is astronomical. Did come across this link to alternatives: http://venturebeatprofiles.com/company/profile/egnyte/competitors/
- dynoAspirantYou might want to check out Tonido FileCloud (http://www.getfilecloud.com), If you are looking for a self hosted, File share, Sync and Mobile access solution. The pricing is very reasonable and the UX is far better than Egnyte.
