Help! Stream from NAS to iPad with AirVideo App?
Hi,
I just got my NAS set up and thought it would be great to wifi stream video to my iPad,
I installed the app on the pad but it asks me for a IP address (so I enter that of the NAS) it also asks for a port? what do i use?
I know doubt have got this all wrong and there's probably an easier way of streaming to the pad,
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Oh and Happy new year to one and All.
Best Regards

Does that mean it should not work on a pro then?

If you like my add-ons please donate :) - neoberlinAspirantFirst of all...thank you for your add on. I've been waiting long for something like this!
But now I got a new ReadyNas Ultra Plus and I wanna stream by AirVideo as well
I have the same problem.
Add on installed, AirVideo App finds the ReadyNasUltra, files are shown, but all show "invalid"
Can I help to find the problem? - BitzerjGuideAny news?
I have tried all the suggestions, have an Ultra, and still get the invalid files.
To be clear, the utility on the IPhone, IPAD, sees the server, sees the files, but all the files are tagged Invalid.
In my case, running the server on Windows works fine. (proving it's not a client issue)
John - Dart_SmurfAspirantIt works on ultra, I just got mine running yesterday thanks to the info that Super-Pousin posted. Originally i couldnt see any folders on my ipad and gave up. I tried again a week later and it worked.
It is certainly worth the effort to get the add-on working if you have the patience. - grummittAspirantWorks great on my Ultra.
As may others have said, initially the ipad app found the server running on my nas, but couldn't see any files.
After enabling/re-enabling the apps and rebooting the NAS they appeared... no idea why they weren't there initially, but all good now :)
edit: Worked out what the issue was/is for me. disabling the addon via frontview doesn't stop the server for some reason, therefore it doesn't refresh the file location after modifying the readynas.properties file. After rebooting the NAS, it reloads. Hopefully this helps someone. - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee Retired

Of the desktop x86 ReadyNAS, only the NVX and NVX Pioneer are 32-bit. All other desktop x86 models use the x86_64 architecture.Bitzerj wrote: I have tried all the suggestions, have an Ultra, and still get the invalid files.
Do other addons install fine?Bitzerj wrote: To be clear, the utility on the IPhone, IPAD, sees the server, sees the files, but all the files are tagged Invalid.
So the addon is installed on your NAS? If so, when editing the config were you sure to use an editor like Notepad++ as suggested (not ordinary Notepad as this mucks up the formatting)? - matgrAspirantWorking for me on NVX.
I installed and ran but without ffmpg - I got invalid files
I installed ffmpg - I get invalid files for the files I tried to view before installing ffmpg but files I did not try to view work.
ANy idea how I get the 'invalid files' to now play?
