NV+ V2 5.3.12 Remote access 1.5.8 time out

Can somebody please help?

I have had my ReadyNAS since 2012. I have been able to access shares locally on the network with my Macs. I have never been able to access shares with my iPhone IOS.

I can log on, and see my NAS, but then it times out on "Connecting to device"

I have tried all options including guest access and anonymous access on the shares. They are all AFP and SMB and FTP activated.

I have trying with this for many months.

I need to access my files remotely over the internet.

If I cannot find a solution this will have to be trashed and I will have to get a Drobo or anything that works.

    Remote is now on the way out, but it is still supposed to work.
    
    -Is it turned on in your NV+
    
    -Can you log in at https://remote.readynas.com/
