Permissions Issue with SABnzbd and Sickbeard

Hi,

I have an Ultra 2 and have installed SABnzbd and Sickbeard they both seem happy and are dealing with downloads fine.

But when it comes to post-processing I get a few file permission issues.
2012-02-18 19:49:39.369671 CP Server Thread-6 :: Failed to set permission for /Media/Video/TV/TVPROG to 777

My setup is I have one normal user, plus the admin user. But who does SABnzbd and Sickbeard run as?
I manually allowed 'other' user to access the sickbeard folder an dlogs etc.., but I'm pretty sure this ad-hoc approach isnt helping.

Any suggestions on how best to setup permissions here?

  • Just ignore the error. I know it's a PITA to have to keep clearing errors relating to this, but so far in my Usage of SABnzbd+, Sickbeard, CouchPotato & Headphones on the NAS, nothing has failed to be written to the right directories once downloaded. Do get some issues with renaming, but this might be down to the way I have the add-ons configured and the myriad of possible naming options. Need to investigate this further before blaming it on a permissions problem.
  • Hi,

    Thanks for the update.
    I'm fairly happy with my setup now - tv downloads fall into a processing folder that sickbeard monitors (then moves to the relevant tv folder and season), and the downloads from couchpotato fall into their own directory that I browse via DLNA on my PS3 (and move the films once watched to the right genre etc..)

    I've basically cheated and given full rights to my working directories and processing directories, so
    chmod a+rwx * -R type style. As its not a public NAS or anything I'm not too concerned.

    Now if Nzbmatrix Xml feed was more reliable I'd be laughing :)

    Tell me about it. It's been failing miserably in Sickbeard for me for weeks. Different errors each week that goes by. Ho hum.
