  • Anyone can signup to build apps for the ReadyNAS or other NETGEAR products at developer.netgear.com
  • _If_ someone comes along that wants to create an add-on for these programs...

To download the SDK, its free. There are more hurdles to jump through that the previous FrontView add-on SDK. The program Jabba mentions is ONLY for ReadyNAS OS 6.0 systems (brand new, limited quantity out there so far = small market), whereas the FrontView SDK for 4.1/4.2/5.3 platform (100,000's of units) is a simple ZIP download to get started. If you want to sell apps via the Genie+ Marketplace, there is a $99 sign-up fee. After that, there is a review process, where your app could still be denied at NTGR's will. I've heard of delays in response to reviews and rejection for version number formatting from existing developers in the program.

How Do I Participate In The Program?

The process for approval and the level of participation you would like to have in the program are up to you.

Registered developer. When you register as a developer and agree to the developer agreement and privacy policy terms, you can download the full SDK and get started.

Subscribed developer. The next step is to become a subscribed developer by paying $99 to the program, submit your tax forms, and agree to the payment policies. After you submit your tax forms, our accounts payable department will begin the approval process. You will receive an email from them when you are approved.

Partner. At the time you are approved you become a NETGEAR partner. This will allow you to request an app ID and then submit your application. After you've finished developing and testing your app, submit it through the developer portal. At that point NETGEAR will review the app for approval, and if it doesn't we'll let you know (chirpa: huh? incomplete statement) it's ready to sell. At that point you can log in to the developer portal, set your price, and make your app available for purchase.
  • I have no idea how to make an add. That's why asked if someone could help
