Ready Cloud on legacy NAS units
Now that you've announced end-of-life on ReadyNAS Remote, will you make Ready Cloud available on legacy NAS units?
A lot of us depend on having remote access to our NAS units.
I have a ReadyNAS Duo v1 (RND2110) and a ReadyNAS Pro 4 (RNDP4000).
Regards,
Mark

When ReadyCloud was first included in OS6, ReadyNAS Remote was also available in it. Then, Remote was removed. At that time, I pointed out that the inablity of ReadyCloud and ReadyNAS to operate concurrently on a single client PC was a detriment to owners of legacy systems still being used when considering purchasing new units. Clearly, nobody at Netgear took any notice, as ReadyCloud was never made available to legacy units.
And now this -- removal ot the server with a very short fuse. And, from other posts, just because you are too lazy and/or cheap to fix a problem wih the server.
If I were an owner of a legacy system and had relied on ReadyNAS remote up till now, you can bet your bottom dollar that the replacement NAS I purchased would not be from the company that just threw me under the bus. If I were a business owner in that position, I would move quicklly to eliminate all of my Netgear equipment.

You can run ReadyNAS OS 6 on 64-bit legacy x86 devices (such as the Pro 4) though we don’t support doing that. The upgrade to OS6 does require that you backup your data first as a factory reset (wipes all data, settings, everything).
We won’t be bringing ReadyCLOUD to legacy NAS firmware.
