ReadyNAS duo X-RAID - Copy to Mac or Windows not working
Hi
I'm struggling with an old ReadyNAS still in good condition that i've brought back into service.
I want to copy off some of the data and use this to back up an old iMac in preparation to restore to a new MacBook air or pro.
I can upload to the storage but the Copy option removes the tick from the radio button on every file I try to copy. When I drag them across from the Mac I get a link back to the NAS but I want to move the file off.
Any ideas?
Thanks and regards
Dan
Obviously, the first step is to update the firmware to the last version available for your NAS, 4.1.16. But even then, you are going to have to contend with the fact that yoiur old NAS does not support newer network protocols such as SMB2 or SMB3. I'm not a Mac user, but I believe SMB1 has been completely disabled on them. But perhaps you can make do with AFP or NFS.
