Is your ReadyNAS configured in user mode ?
Can you check if you have enough space in media share for the user who is importing the pictures.
On directory structure :
If you manually copy your pictures to ReadyNAS meida share and then import, they will not be duplicated to user subdirectory under pictures. However, ReadyNAS Photos resizes the photos, and these are stored under user subdirectory.
