36 TopicsReadyNas photos sharing notification email not sent
Hi, I'm running a duo on 4.1.8 release with ReadyNas add-on. Lately, neither of the album sharing notification mails are sent out - this functionality was working well up to some couple of days ago. I can see the albums under "shared albums" in readynas. Previously shared albums are accessible without issues(hence no connectivity issues) Any hints on this? Thank you in advance! BR// CatalinReadyNAS Photos troubleshooting tips
If you're having problems getting ReadyNAS Photos to work, see if any of the following tips will help. 1. If you are in User or Domain security mode, and you don't have "public" or "guest" access enabled for the [media] share, you will need to specify a login and password to connect from the ReadyNAS Photos desktop software. The login and password should be what you would normally use to connect to the [media] share. 2. If you are in Share security mode, and you have a password set for the [media] share, when connecting from the ReadyNAS Photos desktop software, leave the login field blank, and enter the share password. 3. If you are in User or Domain security mode, and you are an account on the ReadyNAS with the same user name but a different password as what you are using on your PC, you will need to change the password to be the same. 4. Make sure [media] share has read/write privileges over CIFS. 5. If you have installed a pre-release version of RAIDiator that had ReadyNAS Photos support (shame on you since we never really released it ;-) ), and you're having problems with the READYNASPHOTOS database, you will need to remove the ReadyNAS Photos add-on, and re-install the add-on from here.ReadyNAS Photo - No confirmation/activation email sent
Hi Today I thought I would try out the ReadyNAS Photo addon. Problem is the first username I signed up with never received an activation email. When I tried sign again with the same username it refused to allow. I can't find an email address to send the details to so that this can be resolved as I want to keep that username. Please can someone either tell me who to contact or trigger the ReadyNAS Photo service to send out the activation email. :( Many thanks in advance. KTReadyNAS Photos without registering on external site?
I would like to use a photo sharing solution that resides on the ReadyNAS alone and does not require any third party website registrations. I carefully read the description of the Photo add-on but it is still unclear to me if and how the service interacts with readynasphotos.com. Seems that you access the photos on the NAS using a link like USERNAME.readynasphotos.com. Can you access the photos without going through a third party site (potential privacy issues like tracking come to mind)? Also the tutorial for activating the service does not mention opening of ports on the router, I wonder how the photos are accessed remotely (off-site). I am open to other type of photo access as well - seems the device can have PHP/mysql software installed but as I am not very familiar with *nix don't know if software like Gallery (http://gallery.menalto.com/) would work satisfactory? Thanks for your ideas!Cannot Install ReadyNAS Photo Desktop
RAIDar 4.1.7 ReadyNAS Photos v2.2 Windows XP I'm receiving an error during the install and instructed to delete the Dekoh directory and try again. I've tried using the new release of the Desktop software as well and am receiving the same error. I've tried disabling any virus software and Windows Firewalls. Any other suggestions?Confusion regarding ReadyNAS photos
Hi, I bough a Ready Nas Duo a while ago, and just recently started playing with the remote functions. It's running Firmware 4.1.9 at the moment. Back then then i tried to share photos, because i saw there was an add-on for that. I had a lot of problems with it, and i never got it to work. But today i wanted to try it again, and i removed the ReadyNAS photos add-on to start from scratch (before i did that, i saw there was a button "Install" but it linked to a url that docent excist anymore). Now I'm reading something about ReadyNAS photos 1 is discontinued. And if you want to share photos you have to use readyNAS photos 2, is this correct? It looks like my ReadyNAS doesn't support that version, it says can't be installed because it's a different architecture. It does state that i need to use a firmware above 4.2.something. To boil everything down to one question, do i really have to buy a new NAS to be able to use photo sharing?ReadyNAS Photos 1 service alternatives
I created this topic in regards to the discontinuation of ReadyNAS Photos 1 (one) Hopefully this will be of use to the folks with the affected machines and point them in the right direction to continue accessing and sharing their photos using a different method. I wanted to get people's opinions or recommendations of an alternative photo sharing service to the former ReadyNas Photos 1 Any program, service, hosting template to run on their own computer and network to share their photos stored on their now-unsupported NAS unit is welcome (hopefully, mods?) Please suggest the above regardless of tech-ability, cost or lack of cost, or effectiveness (full-res, or compressed, mobile use, etc.) Again, this is for folks to host their own service -not upload photos to an online service (That's why we have a NAS, right?) Looking forward to the replies and of how we can avoid replacing our current NAS units or having to use a 3rd party hosting service Thanks!Sharing photos with a ReadyNAS Duo
Hi all, since Netgear has anounced to effectively terminate the ReadyNAS Photo service, I wonder if there is an alternative way to host and share photo albums with a ReadyNAS Duo. As much as I like it, I cannot afford to buy a x86 NAS, so ReadyNAS Photo II is not really an option for me. Cheers, Daniel
