You are not alone. I've just spent over an hour troubleshooting this extremely frustrating problem. I only have a partial fix thus far:
-Go to Network Connections.
-Go to Properties for you Local Area Connection.
-If things are the same for your problem as mine you will see that the new Remote installer is incorrectly adding the NETGEAR Firewall Driver to your LAN connection. It is NOT supposed to do this as this is only for the Remote network adapter. Uncheck that box and then click OK.
-You should now have restored network access.
However, if your situation is like mine, you will still not be able to use Remote. I am consistently getting a "Initialization Failed. Error code: -3" message.
For other's reference: the version that we are being forced to upgrade to is 1.6.5.16. Trying to go back to 1.6.5.11 does not work because it just tries again to force the upgrade. This is a pretty frustrating experience currently. :(
Hopefully someone from Netgear can help us out. I depend on ReadyNAS Remote quite a bit, so the recent events are very disappointing.
I hope the above is helpful to you!
