Not Ideal at all. This requires me to install software I will also have to update. If this is to be the status quo Netgear needs to inform us of such.
I'm supposed to explain to my client that her new device is non functional without 3rd party software until Netgear pulls their head out of their ass?
How does that make me look?
Like I didn't do my research and recommended a crap product.
I'm starting to feel the same way.
Even if they do fix it I have to either postpone the install, or install it with the caviat that I have to return to install whatever update fixes this and remove the leaf networks driver.
Summary:
This makes a ton more work for me and makes me look less professional because NetGear did a poor job of testing their updates. If this happens again after install I'll be making an unscheduled, probably unpaid support visit.
In short it's only "Ideal" if you're a single tech capable person using it. If you're a non tech user or a consultant servicing non tech users this is your worst nightmare.
TEST YOUR UPDATES BETTER NETGEAR.
