Just to close my thread - CAP1 helped me sort my issue: in the end it had been caused because I had changed the name of my ReadyNas from lower case to upper case, tripping a rare bug. Solution was simply to revert to lower case and hey presto. CAP1 says it will be fixed in a future ReadyNas firmware release.
