Remote Client starting/stoping -- will not initialize
Hello:
I have the lastest version of the client installed and the latest version of the add-on installed. When I start the client on my Windows 7 machine it appears to attempt to log-in and then while the app says "Initializing..." it suddenly dissapears from the icon tray. If I am in the Properties or some other section of the app, it similarily just disappears. It is like something is killing the app or it is crashing. I turned off Norton and all other "protection" software to see if one of those is killing it but, nothing. It is almost like the client app is reseting itself after 5-10 seconds each start. Very odd. Any help would be appreciated -- thanks!

- Try to un-install and re-install the remote client software.
- adrian_jenkinsAspirantHey guys, I'm getting this too - Windows 7 Pro, Symantec End Point Protection, not behind a proxy.
Removing and reinstalling the client has not helped. Rebooting the PC has not helped
Any ideas folks? - adrian_jenkinsAspirantForgot to mention - this is a 64bit windows install.
- Try to install it to a computer that is not 64-bit.
- adrian_jenkinsAspirantDoesn't make any difference :(
i have tried on a HP with Win7 Pro 64Bit SP1 and Symantec Endpoint Protection and an IBM with Win7 Pro 32bit SP1 and Microsoft Security Essentials. When the program tries to log in to the server it crashes. if you have "log in automatically" ticked, the program goes into a cycle of logging and crashing and you have to get in quick to the properties to turn that function off.
is there a set of ports and IP addresses that need to be open for this program to work? if that port is not available would the program crash? - adrian_jenkinsAspirantdid some more teting on this. it appears to be due to a port being blocked.
Anybody know what ports and protocols Readynas Remote needs?
Thanks
