[REQ] Google Drive File sync
Hi,
This may have been asked before..
But since one can store files in google docs storage pretty cheap.... has anybody thought of creating a sync module ?
So that one can do a (cheap) cloud backup of your local files, and vice versa ofcourse.

- The first phase is developing a smaller capacity plan for personal use along with a lower price point that includes ReadyNAS enablement. The second phase is reviewing the entire pricing structure so that our plans can be scaled easier according to the number of users and the amount of storage. We are still in preliminary phases, so no set ETA yet.
~ Johnny - Google is about to rename the service to Google Drive and also to offer syncing software.

Anyone interesting in creating a plugin so that we can backup our nas to the cloud, an affordable one... - Don't think there's a Linux client yet. Until there is there is no chance of an add-on. I believe I read Google is developing a Linux client.
- I am not wiling to put anything of mine on Google Drive.
Here is an excerpt form the Terms of service:
When you upload or otherwise submit content to our Services, you give Google (and those we work with) a worldwide license to use, host, store, reproduce, modify, create derivative works (such as those resulting from translations, adaptations or other changes we make so that your content works better with our Services), communicate, publish, publicly perform, publicly display and distribute such content. - And the same TOS applies to DropBox, but there is also a plugin for that...
- Dropbox has a Linux client. Hence an add-on has been able to be developed for it. It would be nice if Dropbox provided source for the Linux client though as there are some annoying issues due to the way they've written the precompiled binaries.
- Well, i would choose google drive here.
The TOS sucks but it does also for Dropbox.
I think it could add tremendous value for the Readynas world. - Provided its Linux client is good it should be good
- I would use this, as I currently use and like the Dropbox addon.
