SickBeard 0.485.1 - Speed issues?

Hi,

I have installed the excellent SickBeard add-on today and after configuration it seems to now be working how I need it to - all good so far.

I did encounter an issue with not being able to view the logs correctly, after some research and some helpful posts on this forum I managed to enable SSH and change the permissions on the log file. My main issue is the speed of loading pages within the SickBeard page, I am currently using the default port (8888) and using Firefox 8 to browse, for example if I click on the "Logs & Errors" page it will take at least 10 seconds to load the page - being the first time I have used SickBeard on my ReadyNas I am unsure whether this is the norm or not but it seem quite slow to me.

Any guidance/ideas?

Thanks,
Dan.

  • The problem is most likely the CPU of the NV+. It's running at under 300MHz and has to interpret SickBeards Python code. That's why the web interface behaves sluggish, especially when loading big chunks of data like large pictures for the series. Same goes for loading external stuff off the hard disk like your logs. Nothing much that can be done about that I fear.

  • Thanks for the quick reply Stefan.

I feared that this may be the case although even going into the "Config" section presents a delay on the SickBeard interface but if I do the same on the SABnzbd+ then its a lot quicker - would there be an explanation for this?

    Thanks,
    Dan.
  • I updated Sick Beard within the add-on and it strangely seemed to go through OK.

It has been running much quicker since, although with SABnzbd+ / Sick Beard running together I did notice massive decreases in performance.
  • Could be memory related. If you have SSH access, you can run "top" on the command line and keep a close look at the used swap space when both apps are running.
