Source device doesn't support 'Backup System'

Seriously!?!?!? I did a lot of research to find a NAS specifically for offsite backup synchronization. I made my choice based on the online user manual dated July 2013. I had my client purchase two ReadyNas 314 units. I'm in the midst of trying to set this up. I have run into the same error. Now I'm finding out it doesn't work!!! I certainly hope this isn't the case. Netgear is going to make me look like a complete moron if it is. After getting this to work at this client site, I had intended on rolling out this setup for all of my clients. I'm going to get on the horn with Netgear. If anyone has any solutions to this issue, I would greatly appreciate the input.
