I had my client purchase two ReadyNas 314 units. I'm in the midst of trying to set this up. I have run into the same error. Now I'm finding out it doesn't work!!! I certainly hope this isn't the case. Netgear is going to make me look like a complete moron if it is. After getting this to work at this client site, I had intended on rolling out this setup for all of my clients. I'm going to get on the horn with Netgear. If anyone has any solutions to this issue, I would greatly appreciate the input.
I know this is a bit of an old thread, but did you ever find out a way to replicate your NAS?
Much like you, I did a lot of research and even called netgear to make sure I can replicate two devices, so the offsite copy is identical with the same folder structure. I was told by netgear that I am able to do that. Well after I got a 2nd unit (readynas 2120) I was unable to configure it. I just called netgear and they told me that replicate is no longer possible and I can do a backup. This however creates additional backup folders within a folder, so it is not an identical copy. If anyone has figured out a solution for this, let me know.
Thanks!
