Subversion ( SVN ) Add-on
Hello,
Super-Poussin removed the SVN add-on and I was hoping someone (or Super-Poussin) could please update it and bring it back. What was outdated with the old one anyway? I ask because I really don't want to manually enable Root SSH and go through all the steps (I've got a few machines I need to do it on).
Thanks in advance,
Nexus2

- super_poussinVirtuosoI can release 1.4.2
I was able to compile 1.6.5 but need to package it and it will take some time - warrenbuckleyAspirantYeh if you can release both that would be great then people can choose what they prefer to use.
I appreciate the effort you are putting into this.
Thanks,
Warren - Hairy1AspirantAfter a factory reset my FrontView is working again, dont know what went wrong but its ok now....
So how is the 1.6.5 build shaping up? Im here if you need any help with testing.
Cheers
Hairy - WhoCares_MentorIf you're interested, I've got a version ready here: subversion_1.6.5-readynas.bin.
The package is rather large for it not only contains subversion 1.6.5 but also apr-1.38, apr-util-1.3.9 and neon 0.28.6 as well (and also the apache modules for SVN access). I would be happy if you could give it a spin and tell me how it went.

(Now going to work on the PRO version) - warrenbuckleyAspirantHiya will this work with the ReadyNas DUO I have?
If so how do I install & test this and if I have problems with it, can I uninstall it without affecting my backups/data on the hard drives?
Thanks,
Warren - WhoCares_MentorThe version I linked to above is for the Duo, NV, NV+, 1100 (and X6?).
Actually I just found a small bug, so there's a new version 1.0.5 coming up that installs cleanly and which also should uninstall without problems.Currently, it is working flawlessly on my NV+ and my DUO.
May I ask what you'd be using it for? Depending on your needs I possibly need to change a couple of things before it's really useful to you. Right now it's mostly tailored to being used as the root user on the command line.
-Stefan - warrenbuckleyAspirantSorry that last bit being root user lost me.
Ideally i would like to install & configure through a frontview addon and just want a SVN server/repository on my DUO to allow me to work on web development stuff i do.
The more idiot proof the better please.
Warren - WhoCares_MentorI already feared that you were looking for a complete solution including a web interface. That's not what my addon will provide right now. However, I'm working on a Redmine package which should do what you want. Unfortunately this will take a bit more time unless someone can provide me with the complete Apache package for the ReadyNAS Duo/NV+.
Regards,
Stefan - warrenbuckleyAspirantYeh sorry. I dont mind waiting if you are able to provide a SVN addon with a web interface(frontview) that would be great.
I am not sure RedMine is what I am after, seems like BaseCamp?!

In a way, without the price tag, yes. But it also has some nice features and Addons that allow you to auto-create SVN (or BZR, Git, Darcs for that matter) repositories, auto-close tickets by checking the commit comments and so on. The only things I'm currently missing are tagging and branching. But I guess that'll come sooner or later in form of a plugin.
I prefer Redmine because it's somewhat more integrated than the usual stand-alone SVN management tool. And while those are really good in doing what they were designed to, I found myself always adding more and more software like Trac and the like to a pure SVN environment so I could do some more advanced things like bug tracking and file management for releases.
Regards,
Stefan
