•HTTPS trackers are unsupportedVersion 3.0 alpha (build 22789)
- Added fields to the About box in the web UI to present the external IP address and UDP/TCP ports assigned by a UPnP router to the server
- Added speculative fix for crash on POSIX platforms occurring when any configurable directories (e.g., active, completed, temporary, autoload, request) contain Unicode characters
- Fixed documentation by changing feed_id to feed-id in two places
µTorrent Server 3.0 alpha build 22708 (for Linux)
- Added daemon argument which directs the server to run in its own
process group- Added usage argument which directs the server to display the set of
valid command-line arguments before exiting - server also prints error
and usage messages before exiting if it detects at least one
unrecognized command-line argument- Added settings finish_cmd and state_cmd to provide a way to invoke
asynchronous processes for torrent lifecycle events- The add torrent dialog in the web UI now allows the user to choose
which download directory to use for the torrent being added- Correct JSON output is now generated for the list-dirs action request
- The name of the directory created by extracting the product archive now
includes utorrent instead of bittorrent- Removed ul_slots_per_torrent setting since it no longer has a function
- Added ut_webui_dir setting in the configuration file, which specifies
the directory containing the webui.zip archive or the unarchived files
to be served for the web UI- Added pidfile argument which permits the specification of a file to be
created by the utserver process which will contain the ID of the
utserver process- Added logmask setting in the configuration file which permits logging
to be configured (and subsequently modified as part of handling a
hangup signal), and removed support for LOGMASK environment variable- The server rereads the configuration file upon receipt of a hangup
signal or when creating or moving a file named rcf.utmr in the
dir_request directory - see the cautions in the user manual about
sending a hangup signal when attempting to change the value of
dir_request- Added settings admin_name and admin_password to allow administrators to
define initial non-default credentials for authenticating to the server
via the HTTP interface- Fixed documentation by changing filter_id to filter-id in one place

- dhonarAspirantHey Yomark,
Thanks for the quick reply and especially the printscreen. This has solved the problem. Easy doing and setup and it started working in minutes :D torrents are automatically started and all files are stored in the defined folders.

yomark wrote: Hey dhonar, just use the gui to set the paths, that should work.
Set it to something like this:
/c/media means your Media share you have by default on you readynas.
I don't know why the utserver.conf is there, but it seems that it doesn't use the config file at all, so just ignore that file. :)
The logfile present does however work.
the utserver.conf is mandatory without it utserver will not run - yomarkAspirantTnx super-poussin for the great plugins you've made. Bought you a beer or two.

*EDIT* Nevermind the install never prompted if it completed or not. uTorrent showed up after I rebooted (busy indicator still spinning). So far, looks like its working great! Configured it based off my Win7 version's settings, tested out a small torrent, and it worked like a charm! Great job and thanks!
I saw same problem for spinner, I'm investigating : no need to reboot do a ctrl+F5
I downloaded Pro-uTorrent_1.8bin, installed by the Frontview of a ReadyNAS Ultra 2, in the "Services/add-ons" section the checked box uTorrent P2P Server is on but as I click "Launch it" the browser page shows a busy spinner as, I understand, described by ShortyMac I quote herein.
Tried ctrl+F5, then reboot, I let the spinner spinning all night long ... nothing (except for a Vista jam I solved going back to a previous recovery point, I installed several adds-on on the brand new NAS, I got my SqueezeBox Duet wonderfully working with my 250 Gb music library filed on the ReadyNas, and it is still happily working at full speed ... I am very happy as I'm not very confortable with all this stuff at the beginning)
Thanks on advance for your help, I see the best opinions are about uTorrent and I'd like to search a solution before choosing another P2P program.
Roberto - super_poussinVirtuosocan you try with another browser ?
- bobbymaskAspirantthank you for your reply, I'll be back home on the 8th, and I'll try BitTorrent or other suitable you will suggest.
I installed "Remote", can I manage the installation from remote also ?

Done, Transmission installed and it works.
Roberto - grimlochAspirantIs it possible to create your own torrent from the ReadyNAS version?
- Smoke1AspirantA wonderful client. Everything works fine on the ReadyNAS Ultra 4, unlike Transmission 2.13.
But I have two comments:
1. Does not work in Internet Explorer 8. Always displays "Loading ..." (This is not so important)
2. Incorrect naming of downloaded files, if the title contains Russian characters. FIle is displayed in Windows 7 as: "547245MHJHGKJHKJ324253453.avi", and Mac OS X 10.6.6 - "???? ??????? ????.avi"
Can this somehow fix (item number 2)? - super_poussinVirtuosowill publish a new version for 1)
