10GbE Ethernet Cards

Probably won't work. I believe there was code in the system, if the model wasn't sold with 10Gbe, or a 'supported' model, it would ignore cards placed in there afterwards.

Can you download the System Logs (FrontView>Status>Logs>Download All Logs), then open up boot_info.log in the zip file. Tell me what the '10gige' line says, 0 or 1. If it's 0, the system won't take a 10GbE NIC, even if it has a slot for it.

There are hacks to get it working though, I'd have to experiment. Basically it unbinds the drivers on boot up.

I don't seem to have the bios_info.log zip file.. The only BIOS*.* I have is bios_Ver.log and it does not offer much help....

I have seem to find a card, that is netgear, that has dual 10/100/1000 ports on it, and It seems you could trunk all 4 together to have at least 4gbps throughput.. which would double what I have now...

RN12P2GE-100WWS is a 10/100/1000 card.. I also found their supported 10ge card..

RN12T2SFP-100WWS at a GRAND for a Long-shot....

The log chirpa meant to refer to was boot_info.log. You should have that log file in the zip file you downloaded.

The dual gig E card would definitely work in the 3200.

I'll use the 1gig e dual card instead.. How many of those can I put in there.. Just one more???

You can have just the one of those cards installed. 2 built-in NICs, plus two NICs on the optional dual-NIC card, so 4 NICs in total.

Sorry yes, typo, I meant boot_info.log.

Your best bet is to use the dual-NIC card for (4) 1GbE NICs, and team/bond them for higher throughput. You can only add one of these, FrontView was only ever designed to handle four NICs, not more.

Like you said, the overhead cost for the 10GbE is too high for an unsupported purchase.
