My update - with more questions!
I decided to try both suggestions - i.e. setup ReadyNAS Remote and set up HTTP. I can't get either to work.
I do have ReadyNAS Remote working fine on my iPhone.
1. ReadyNAS Remote - I have installed the client on my Work PC. If I try to use the user name and password that ID use on my iPhone and it says Incorrect ID or Password. If I try to set up the same as a New User, it says there is a Connection to the Server error. I'm not surprised, as unlike for thet iPhone client, there is no place to put in the name of the Server that I am trying to get to. The Setup instructions suggest that the next step in to 'Connect to ReadyNAS'. Except that it is greyed out for me! I have checked all the forums and instructions and can't see what I am missing.
2. HTTPS - I opened the port on my router. I'm not sure that it is really open (I did a test from my old PC which said it was 'closed' but I have Zone Alarm Free on there so this may impact my results), but I have tried to continue. My main stumbling block is that I enter http://MyIP:Port Number and every time I try and go to that, it removes the Port Number from the URL and replaces it with a /, and then fails to connect. Why would the browswer (I have tried two) be removing the Port number? (This happens on my iPhone too!) Can you suggest how I proceed?
