AFP Mounts dirrent from NAS to NAS
Hi,
I have a peculiar "issue", which I'd like to see if anyone else is having as well.
I have two ReadyNAS units, a Pro Pioneer and an Ultra 2. The two NASes are set up identically, with AFP, FTP, HTTPS, and Rsync enabled in "Standard File Protocols". The AFP service is the only thing advertised over Bonjour, and I do not have UPnP turned on. They both have a "Hostname", and they are on the same network.
In my Mac only environment, however, the two NASes act differently; when I have not mounted any shares from any of the two, I see the hostnames in the finder, in the sidebar, as Bonjour computers, and they look and act the same. But when I then go into a share on the Pro Pioneer, the host name moves to the top of the list, and gets an "eject" icon next to it. When I do the exact same on the Ultra 2, the host name stays at the bottom, and there is no "eject" icon.
Checking two shares (one from each) I see the connection protocol used is the same - Server: afp://NASNAME (AFP)._afpovertcp._tcp.local/SHARENAME
Access right are the same (same user), and all else seems identical, but I have to wonder if there is a difference?
I know I am a bit pedantic, but I want the two setup identically, so the Ultra 2 can act as a backup for the Pro Pioneer.
Thanks n advance for any ideas...
Bo
