After a power outage, my RND-4D is stuck on "Boot from USB"
Hello.
After a power outage that affected my entire building, my NAS, upon power coming back, seems to think it should boot from the USB, even though there is no drive in that port.
This happened once before a long time ago, and what I did then was blow out dust out of the USB ports, and it booted fine.
Obviously, since I'm writing this, has not helped. And I have kept a piece of tape over the USB ports because of this issue so they don't have any dust in them.

As a follow-up to this, if I get an identical NAS and put my drives into it, will the array be safe?

You probably should use paid support (my.netgear.com). That minimizes risk of data loss, and it is possible that your problem is related to a chassis failure in the NAS. You might check your warranty status (3 years for original purchaser).
Migrating the disks might not help, since another possibility is that the OS partition (and maybe even the data volume) got corrupted when the power failed.
I recommend a UPS for the NAS - that lets the NAS do a clean shutdown.

Just FYI, I did purchase support from Netgear.
And then I spent several weeks trying to reach a technician without any luck.
Netgear support truly is one of the worst I have ever encountered. I'll never buy another Netgear product ever again.
