Backing up from a ReadyNAS Ultra 4 to a remote ReadyNAS 104.

The Ultra 4 has got Firmware 4.2.1 and the 104 has 6.10.3

I have configured the 104 as the remote server to where I want to backup

my data on the Ultra 4 using rsync.

When trying to do a backup I get the error:

>ssh: connect to host 81.170.165.240 port 22: Connection refused
>rsync: connection unexpectedly closed (0 bytes received so far) [sender]
>rsync error: unexplained error (code 255) at io.c(605) [sender=3.0.9]

Is it not possible to have diffrent Firmware on the 2 ReadyNAS to get this working ?

Anyone got a clue ?

While you could convert your Ultra to run OS-6, I don't think that's your problem.  I back up between OS-6 and 4.2.x systems all the time.

Is rsync enabled on the remote share?

Is there a firewall on the path that might be blocking the connection?

Are both NAS on your home network?
