Backing up Share Names and Settings only - No Data
I have man backup schemes working, but two of my drives failed at the same time and I had to replace them. I didn't lose any data, only time. I could restore user names and groups and permissions, but each share I had to setup by hand.
We have over 50 shares and it takes a long long time to replace each share, configure the protocols, permissions and settings, and then reseed the data after all the setups.
I am asking if there is a way to backup the share names, usernames, groups, and just leave the shares empty of all data so that I can replace the data from backups, if this were to happen again.
Thanks

You can save the config file (look on system->settings). That won't restore all settings, but it should restore the share configuration (and I think user/groups).

Hi peteophoven
Did you download configuration archive from 'System->settings' page ?
If you have donwnloaded that archive, you can restore from it

Some shares are getting unauthorized access to the folder though they didn't have permission to enter that folders. What to do for proper permissions. What kind of protocols i should use for this ? Give me suggesion please.
