Backup doesn't complete
I have a ReadyNAS Ultra-6. It is working perfectly and is really serving me well. BUT: I've just recently tried setting it to backup [I got another NAS _just_ to serve as a backup target for the Rea...
OK, three things: 1) I was doing a Windows/NAS (Timestamp). 2) I see in the log it did a cifs connect to the other NAS.
AND: *it*finished*! Updating the firmware did the trick. I'm a little surprised: I do have the box checked that it should check for updates [and i guess I assumed I'd get a notification email when a new update was available] but, as suggested, I cancelled the hung backup, did a remote-update, rebooted the REadyNAS and redid the backup and it finished. It took a bit over two hours. And I see why I was confused: the backup wasn't 65 gigs [as I had mentioned in my previous post] but 650 gigs and what had apparently happened is that the previous backup just hung/died. Seeing the size of the backup share, my head slipped a decimal point and I *thought* it had copied everything. So just another newbie tempest in a teapot.... thanks for the help!
