I still have some concerns about the temporary loss of frontview on NAS 1. If you have SSH installed, you can directly check fullness of the OS partition. I'd also check the SMART stats on the disks, and delete all backup logs. After that I'd try downloading the logs to a PC, and then delete the rest.
What are the backup job settings?
Are you using rsync over ssh, or regular rsync?
Does the destination system have rsync enabled for the share?
Did you configure an rsync username/password for the share (if so, try removing that).
BTW, a good way to get to rsync is to start with an NFS backup job - run that once, then edit the protocol to rsync, and run it again.
