have the same problem...test connection is successful, running the backup fails due to 'unable to access remote path' .
Im trying to back up an older ReadyNAS NV RAID 5 to my new RAID 5 4Tb (ST31000340NS) ReadyNAS NV+/1 Gb RAM by setting up a backup job source old NAS destination new NAS ....have chosen //host/share/path syntax (with the correct leaning for the dashes) for my backup source (Windows/NAS (Timestamp)) and entered the right login and password. Both boxes are CIFS...security mode is share...computer is Wintel XP Pro, etc, router is Netgear GS108...simple set up...cable modem / ip from dhcp server
Have followed the RTFM protocols, the suggestion mentioned in this thread, even the RoadRunner opt out fix. I am running 4.00c1-p2 on the NV+ and 2.00c1-p9 (!) on the NV - no, i never upgrade, b/c 'upgrades' (from any tech company) usually introduce more problems than they solve...
My only guess was that the underlying folders within the source (here, old ReadyNAS NV box) are themselves password protected. THere are no share access restrictions, but in the share list page on the NV, each folder has a password. I removed those passwords, applied changes and tried backing up. No luck. Same error. If I drag and drop (what im reduced to at the moment), I cannot move the main/top level (dunno what to call it) folder from the NV to the NV+. Must create a new folder on the NV+, then select all the contents of that top level NV folder (& these contents may themselves contain folders and subfolders) and drag those over. Thats all that works
Thoughts?
