Backup not working

If you connect to the source share with Windows Explorer using the login credentials you gave the backup job, are you able to access those files?
yes not a problem what so ever.
I can also back them up using the Archive bit.
I have two NAS devices on slightly different firmware's both on 4. i haven't set the second NAS backup yet... testing over the weekend.
