Backup to USB3 HDD - typical speeds?
I have run some tests transferring from a ReadyNAS 102 to a NTFS formatted USB3 Seagate Expansion HDD (connected to one of the back USB ports).
Transferring one large file (3.3GB ISO), speeds were as follows;
Using the GUI browser to copy from NAS share and paste to USD UDD: 21.1MB/s
Backup Local NAS Share -> Local USD HDD: 62.48MB/s
Backup Local NAS Share - > Remote RSync(127.0.0.1) USB HDD: 19.9MB/s
Backup Local HAS Share - > Remote Windows Timestamp(127.0.0.1) USB HDD: 14.9MB/s
is this consistent with other user's transfer speeds?

Once every 4 weeks I do a full backup of appox. 900 GB of data (mixed files from few kB to 2.5 GB), to a Samsung Portabel USB3 drive (Seagate disc), and the backup completes in just over 3 hours and 15 seconds.
If my calculations are correct that should be somewhere around 77 MB/s.
Thank you lundmilo.
Is that using a local to local backup, as described on this page? http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/29654
Also, what file system is the disk?

He said NTFS.
If I have a chance I'll do a USB backup on 6.5.0 beta, and report on the speed here.

There is an issue with NTFS driver, that will be solved in 6.5.0.
On 6.5.0 RC2 I achieve 95 MB/s on RN312 and RN516.
