Both Firefly Client & Crossfire timeouts

Hi,

I've about 51K mp3 files on my ReadyNas Duo at home.

I'm a windows programmer but now i'm stumped!

I've used the firefly java client to access my music for years as at my last company, the IT bods opened up port 3689 for me.

Now at my new small company Firefly only partially works.

There is no restriction on port 3689 here and the java client sees the 51K count when i add the remote IP details of my NAS box.

Clicking Load Remote List causes it to hang and time out.

So then I configured IIS to use PHP on my windows 8 Pc and loaded Crossfire web interface, editing the XML to mention my dyndns details. It too sees the 51K records but it also get a error 504 Gateway Timeout.

My friends at other sites still happily access my NAS firefly media server via Firefly with no problems so the cause of error is my Windows 8 PC or the network here at work.
The outsourced IT support company assure me there's no restriction on 3689 as it's outbound access to my NAS?

So has anybody else had this problem & how did you fix it?
