Burning smell readynas nv+

Guys

I have a 4 1/2 year old nv+ which has worked without any issue until now. last week it started smelling, like a nasty burning smell, which i thought may be a hd but was unsure. After reading a few posts, it is possible it is a psu fault. Checking the warranty, it runs out in November, but where do I call to get this sorted? I have searched support, but that seems to be for under 90 days.

If anyone can point me in the right direction, I would be very grateful.

Thanks

support.netgear.com is the way to start an RMA. Though they really should have helped on on the phone with this.
  • to Grumqyguy,
Firstly, it sounds like a capacitor is swelling in your power supply.
Once you are in warranty, you are entitled to a replacement.

The problem for Netgear is that spare v1 PSU's are in short supply, with
    demand exceeding supply.
From the UK stocks view point, we have enough in the short term.

With regard to resellers stocking PSU's, I'm told stocks will come from
    Distribution in late June 2013.

  • Well after finding the login details, changing password and eventually the old email address, I have a new power supply being sent out.

    Thanks guys
