ReadyCloud needs Internet connection as it connects to a server to validate the login details before it allows each user to access the NAS volume. If this is just for local access, you can just need to create each user's login and set permission to the shares..

Thanks for the reply, it jogged my memory that devices on this network need to have their MAC address registered, even though it's part of our private network, thanks!

So just registered the MAC Address with the network, do you know if there is a way to tell if the ReadyNAS has internet access from the admin area?

Hi Andrew211,
Unfortunately, there's no internet indicator in the admin page. You can tell if your ReadyNAS has internet access if it can get automatic (remote) updates, list & download the add-ons under the Apps tab, and lastly, connect to remote backup services under the Cloud tab.
