Can NV+ drives be moved to RN31400?
I have an NV+ v3 system with 4 x 2TB drives. Monday morning the power supply died. A couple of hours ago, Netgear said that they would replace it (I don't totally understand why).
However, during the downtime I was trying to think of alternatives. One was to get a new diskless ReadyNAS 314 and use the NV+ drives. If I did so
...would the existing NV+ files be intact and readable by the 314?
...or is the file system incompatible and I would have to reformat the drives, losing all the files?

Would be simplest if the PSU replacement brings your NV+ back to life. If you were to get a 314 you should get new disks and transfer your data across your network.
We do have the ability to attempt data recovery of an array taken from your NV+ v1 hardware revision 3 using a new ReadyNAS, but there may be a charge for this and you would need to have somewhere to backup your data to and not to insert your disks until prompted to by support. - bhataTutorHi mdgm...
I'm *really* hoping (and assuming) that the new PSU will get the NV+ up and running. My question was mostly one of curiosity, but in the small chance that my problem is more than a bad PSU, it's good to know what may be possible.
Thanks for the feedback!
-bhata - NhellieVirtuosoMost of the power supply issues I have seen here have been fixed by just replacing the drive, so hopefully your unit will be up and running again once the PSU arrives. Then you can buy a new RN314 and just do a NAS-to-NAS backup, once you have transferred all your data to the new unit, the NV+ will be a backup unit.
