Can only use 100MBit instead of 1Gbit
Had this problem a week or so ago, but changed the settings to DHCP and switched off jumbo frames, which eventually solved the problem (after a reboot or two) and it gave me Gbit again.
Noticed today however, that the port for the Ultra2+ on my GS608 switch was Orange again instead of Green. (Gbit ports turn green when connected to Gbit equipment, Orange for lower speeds, and obviously off if devices are turned off or not functioning.)
So, went into Frontview, tried changing the settings like I did last time, but I cannot get 1Gbit to work this time.
I tried all sorts of combinations, but not getting it working.
I have tried a new cable, a new port on the Netgear gs608, and numerous configurations in Frontview.
Advice please, or am I missing something?

To the PC you mean? Thanks. I will try that at the weekend, currently running a load of backups which I don't want to interrupt ideally.
EDIT 1.
I should add, when this first appeared last week, I hooked it up the Router temporarily while moving a few things about in the switch, the router only id'd 100Mbit also, (it has the same green/orange system for speed) and it remained 100Mb in the new port on the 608. (With new cable) Eventually though once back in the 608, after trying various DHCP/Static ip's, it did eventually find it's way back 1Gbit. (I had tried so many combinations of DHCP/Static/Jumbo and MTU settings, I ended up losing track of what had actually worked. My bad.)- sphardy1Apprentice

Yes
Btw your recent symptoms definitely suggest flakey hardware. The detection for 1Gb is pretty much if all 4 pairs are present & active across the connection (100mb only needs 2) and is why you would see a Gb connection registered even if you use unsuitable CAT5 cables
So the LEDs occasionally not showing a Gb connection smacks of a Hardware issue - I'd make sure the cables were good as a first option sphardy wrote: InTheShires wrote:

Thanks Sphardy.
Oddly enough the issue has resolved itself for now. We had a power cut over night, (very rare round here) and when the NAS restarted itself, it automatically came back on a Gbit connection. I need to get a UPS at the earliest opportunity as I'm exposed to these elements currently, even if they are extremely rare.
I'll just have to keep a look out for any problems in the future.- This has dropped back to 100mb again today. Seemingly no rhyme or reason as to why.
I'm going to annoy everyone connected the servers tomorrow and swap the hardware around. If it happens again, or the hardware swapping doesn't work, then I'll factory reset the RNU2 and see if that solves it.
Do we have an ETA on next FW release? (4.2.20?)
