Can only use 100MBit instead of 1Gbit
Had this problem a week or so ago, but changed the settings to DHCP and switched off jumbo frames, which eventually solved the problem (after a reboot or two) and it gave me Gbit again.
Noticed today however, that the port for the Ultra2+ on my GS608 switch was Orange again instead of Green. (Gbit ports turn green when connected to Gbit equipment, Orange for lower speeds, and obviously off if devices are turned off or not functioning.)
So, went into Frontview, tried changing the settings like I did last time, but I cannot get 1Gbit to work this time.
I tried all sorts of combinations, but not getting it working.
I have tried a new cable, a new port on the Netgear gs608, and numerous configurations in Frontview.
Advice please, or am I missing something?

- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredAre you using a CAT5e or newer cable?
What version of RAIDiator are you running?
Do you get the same issue with other gigabit equipment? mdgm wrote: Are you using a CAT5e or newer cable?

Two Cat5e cables tried,
Latest version. (4.2.19 or whatever it is.)
No, the Ultra is the one with the problem. My PC, and Duo work as intended, and the other equipment attached is not GBit anyway.)
Thank you.- victorhortaliveAspirantIs this GS108 a managed switch ? Can you access the Port settings ?
If so maybe you should check that the port attached to the Ultra2+ is set to Auto.
I have several GS108tV1 units and they all work fine with ReadyNAS - inc Ultra2+ (now replaced with Ultra6+) victorhortaliveson wrote: Is this GS108 a managed switch ? Can you access the Port settings ?

No unfortunately it's the GS608, which is unmanaged.- sphardy1ApprenticeHave posted this before but at the risk of over-repetition...
I've had 2 GS608 units - both "failed" in that I got a mysterious slow down on my network though otherwise everything was 100% functional. Never noticed that any equipment was running at 100MBit instead of 1Gb, but definitely hit an undiagnosable slow down and ultimately moved to the GS108 which fixed the issue instantly and has been reliable so far.
The reason I've posted this before is that is appears others have experienced similar and I get the feeling the GS608 is not the most reliable of equipement (though admittedly the sample size I'm going on is small) - victorhortaliveAspirantOK, wrong switch.
Definitely suggest you bin it and get a new, possibly managed switch. victorhortaliveson wrote: OK, wrong switch.

Unless you are going to lob me a spare managed unit for free, I'm stuck with the 608 for the foreseeable. ;)
@ Sphardy. That's not what I was hoping to hear! I've got two of these units running everything, (behind a Linksys 610n) both are under warranty for the time being, but it's not good to hear your opinion and experiences of them. Not good at all. :(
I'll just have to keep an eye on them I suppose.- victorhortaliveAspirantOK, can you afford £40 for a refurb V2 ? See : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Netgear-GS108 ... 2c5f69bd8e.
Worth a punt IMO. victorhortaliveson wrote: OK, can you afford £40 for a refurb V2 ? See : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Netgear-GS108 ... 2c5f69bd8e.

It's a good price by the looks of it, but I just can't afford in the current climate. Gas and electric takes around a third of my income, and priority, in these tough times atm.
So, are we certain it's the switch, and not something solvable on the NAS?
Thanks.- sphardy1ApprenticeA direct connect would answer that
